Cambodian Foreign Minister leads 47th Extraordinary Francophonie Ministerial Conference in Paris

Phnom Penh: On June 30, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired the 47th Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie in Paris, with the participation of foreign ministers and ministers in charge of La Francophonie affairs from 53 member countries in person and online.

The conference will be divided into two different strategic sessions: Session 1: Presentation of the candidates for the position of Secretary General of the Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) and a dialogue. Each candidate is required to demonstrate their strategic vision in leading and engaging with the delegation.

Session 2: Brief meeting for ministers/head of delegations to discuss and summarize comments and recommendations to their respective heads of state and government for a final decision on the position of Secretary-General.

For the upcoming 20th Francophonie Summit under the theme: “Committed to Continuing to Protect Peace for Shared Prosperity and Long-term Stability”, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Cambodia’s readiness as a host to welcome and provide warm hospitality to all international delegations visiting Cambodia from November 15 to 16, 2026.
