Dr. Eang Sophallet added that Cambodia has been implementing the “Environmental Sector Chakra Strategy” which has introduced strict legal measures for natural resource crimes, strengthened environmental management through various campaigns to control environmental pollution, maintain the health of the air, land and water environment, promoted the planting of more trees to increase biodiversity and transform Cambodia into a carbon neutral country by 2050.
At the same time, the Royal Government of Cambodia, including the high attention of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Hun Sen, Prime Minister Manet of Cambodia has been supporting local community development by linking natural resource conservation to local economic development to ensure environmental sustainability, including the development of green projects that can generate a good income for citizens. The Minister added that Cambodia can share the link between economic benefits and environmental conservation for future cooperation between the two countries’ ministries of environment.
