Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has agreed in principle to maintain the growth in revenue from tourism services of the Chong Kneas tourist ferry community even as fuel prices fall, in order to increase income for the people.

On June 21, 2026, Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Facebook, “After returning from a meeting in the Russian Federation, I took the opportunity to take my family on a boat ride on the Tonle Sap River at Chong Kneas, Siem Reap, as promised to my children.”

During the trip, the King also met and chatted with representatives of the Chong Khnias Tourist Boatmen Association, listening to the living conditions of the people in the community as well as their requests, especially related to the distribution of revenue from tourism services between the Angkor Foundation and the community.

In fact, at a time when our country is under pressure from the war in the Middle East, which has caused fuel prices to rise, the Royal Government has decided to increase the dividend to be provided to the Chong Khnias Tourist Boatmen Community To help ease the burden on the people in the community.

In response to the request of the community representatives and after discussing with His Excellency the Director General of the Angkor Foundation, the Prime Minister said, “I have agreed in principle to keep the increase in the dividend of income from tourism services the same for the community, even if the price of fuel decreases in the future, in order to increase the income of the people in the community.”

What the Prime Minister is requesting is that the community continue to work together in organizing and providing good, transparent services to tourists to ensure confidence and attract more national and international tourists to visit there.
