Indian Ambassador to Cambodia: Yoga is a reliable path towards a healthy and strong life

Phnom Penh: The Embassy of India in Cambodia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, organized a yoga event to celebrate the 12th International Yoga Day at the Royal Independence Park, Siem Reap Province on June 19, 2026.

The event With more than 500 participants, including yoga practitioners, students, government officials and the public, especially under the chairmanship of Mr. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, as well as leaders and senior representatives of key government ministries.

In his speech on the occasion, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of the topic -Yoga for longevity. 

He mentioned the history of yoga, which originated in India, dates back to ancient times and is internationally recognized as a reliable path towards a healthy and strong life. 

The Ambassador noted that holding such a significant event in the heart of Siem Reap, a city known for its rich cultural heritage, would further strengthen the long-standing cultural and civilizational ties between India and Cambodia. 

The Ambassador also expressed his deep gratitude to H.E. Minister Huot Hak and dignitaries from various ministries and government organizations for their continued support and enthusiasm in celebrating the International Day of Yoga in Cambodia.

Before today’s event, we also organized 12 yoga events in other locations in Cambodia to celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga. These events were held under the theme “Yoga for Longevity” and were held from April to June 2026 in collaboration with various ministries and government organizations, universities and yoga enthusiasts in Cambodia. These events provided many yoga participants with the opportunity to participate in the 12th International Day of Yoga celebration in Cambodia and increased the number of yoga practitioners in the country.
