Phnom Penh: On the morning of May 15, 2026, Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, presided over the official launch of the health information management system, DHIS2, a major step towards a strong, smart, and resilient health system for the Cambodian people.

Cambodia is accelerating its digital health system reform by transitioning from the HMIS (Health Management Information System) to the DHIS2 (District Health Information Software 2) system, with support from the World Health Organization and international partners.

This important reform will help strengthen governance, increase the capacity to connect health data, strengthen the sovereignty of information systems, and support data-based decision-making to serve health services more efficiently, transparently, and with better quality.

The Ministry of Health is also investing in human resources, digital capabilities, and building a modern national health information architecture in line with the Cambodian Digital Government Policy 2022-2035.
