Pursat: On the afternoon of May 5, 2026, Mr. Khoy Rida, Governor of Pursat Provincial Government, with the participation of Venerable Lay Kan, Abbot of Wat Bakan, as well as leaders of relevant departments and organizations around the province, visited and met with teachers of Hun Sen Bakan Primary and Secondary School in O’Romchek Village, Trapeang Jong Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province.

The main purpose of this visit is to survey support for relocating the new educational institution, which is located near the old location. The new location project will be designed to have standard, modern and safe educational buildings. Prepare a green environment with rows of trees and spacious, clean spaces. The old location will be preserved for the benefit of the Bagan Monastery.

On that occasion, Mr. Khoy Rida confirmed that the current visit was made at the request of Venerable Lay Kan, the abbot of Bagan Monastery. His Majesty, with his own wealth and the generosity of many philanthropists, intends to purchase a new land of more than 5 hectares to build a new, standard educational institution to better serve the education sector.

The provincial governor also spoke about the efforts to promote and improve the education sector under the high leadership of His Excellency Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, has always considered the education sector as a top priority in training human resources to develop the country.

The provincial governor emphasized that Pursat province has many tasks to be developed. The success of Pursat Province, clean and free of garbage, and progress in all sectors is due to the participation of all citizens, which can be said to be a province that has won the policy implementation.

The provincial governor appealed to all teachers: “If this change serves the long-term interests of the monastery and the students, who are the children of our citizens, then we must all support and actively participate.
