Phnom Penh: Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak, Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, said that developing policies for the E-mobility sector in Cambodia is a key point in transforming the Cambodian economy towards a green and digital economy.

Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak’s remarks at the opening ceremony of a capacity-building training course for Cambodian civil servants on new technologies and policy development for the e-mobility sector in Cambodia on April 27, 2026.

The program is organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the National Institute of Green Technology (NIGT) at the Koreana Hotel in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The program is part of KOICA’s Official Development Partnership (ODA) project that aims to support Cambodia in building and enhancing national policy capacity and establishing a strong institutional base for electric vehicle (EV) battery management from production, use, collection, recycling and reuse stages.

The Ambassador emphasized that the development of the e-mobility sector is not only an important step for reducing environmental pollution and climate change, but also a key point in transforming the Cambodian economy into a green and digital economy. He also highlighted the importance of international cooperation, especially with the Republic of Korea, in technology transfer, experience sharing, and building human resources as a strong foundation for sustainable and competitive development.
At the same time, Mr. Khuon Phonrattanak remained firmly committed to strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, focusing on priority areas such as clean energy, green technology, and human resource development.
