Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has confirmed that the Royal Government will continue to provide tax incentives on domestic cement products for domestic cement manufacturing enterprises for an additional two years.

The tax exemption announcement by Prime Minister Hun Sen was made on the occasion of allowing a delegation from the Cambodian Cement Industry Association to pay a courtesy call and discuss work on June 23, 2026 at the Peace Palace.

During this meeting, Oknha Vinh Hu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, spoke about the work and business operations of the Cambodia Cement Industry Association, highlighting that currently, the member companies of the association have invested and are investing a total of approximately 1.2 billion US dollars and have a total cement production capacity of approximately 12 million tons per year, and have created jobs for a total of 2,119 employees and workers, of which 1,900 are Cambodian employees and workers, accounting for 90%.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors added that the members of the Cambodian Cement Industry Association supplied cement to the domestic market in total from 8 to 9 million tons per year, using local raw materials in approximately 85% of the cement production chain, which helps maintain the association’s competitiveness. In addition to business operations, the association also participates in community development by contributing to humanitarian activities and other social works such as the construction and repair of infrastructure, schools, health centers, and the installation of public street lighting, etc.

On this occasion, the King also highlighted the introduction of necessary policies and mechanisms by the Royal Government To support the success of domestic and foreign investment companies that have and are investing in Cambodia.

The King also stated that the Royal Government will continue to provide tax incentives on domestic cement products, which the Royal Government has provided for many years, considering it a state burden. for domestic cement enterprises for another two years, until the end of 2028.

The King emphasized that the success of existing companies in Cambodia is the most potential promotion to attract more new investments to Cambodia.

In addition, the President also recommended to associations as well as companies, factories and private enterprises that in order to ensure competitiveness and attract support from citizens who are consumers for their products, manufacturers must focus on ensuring good quality with reasonable prices.

At the same time, the Prime Minister encouraged the Cambodian Cement Industry Association to continue to review and strengthen the production chain to serve the domestic market supply more strongly.

Before concluding, the Prime Minister reiterated that the Royal Government will continue to help and support the success of the private sector and considered the private sector as an important partner of the Royal Government in promoting socio-economic development in Cambodia.
