Phnom Penh: Mr. Heng Sour, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, said that the Prior Experience Assessment (RPL) test is an important gateway for former workers returning from Thailand to take their practical skills and experience through a skills recognition assessment to obtain an official certificate, quickly get job opportunities and receive higher wages.

The Minister made this statement at a ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of International Workers’ Day, May 1, 2026, at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center on April 26, under the high chairmanship of His Excellency Samdech Maha Prasad Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Minister said: “This skills recognition test program is an important way for you to bring your knowledge, skills, and experience from your actual work practice to pass the assessment and recognition of your skills in order to receive an official certificate, which will help you seize better job opportunities and earn higher wages.”

According to Mr. Heng Sour, the Ministry of Labor has implemented the RPL test for former workers from Thailand on April 24 in eight professions in the construction sector, with the government covering the entire cost of the test for the workers.
