Families of veterans living in poverty in Trapeang Russey commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province received new houses donated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittipritt Bandit.

Kampong Thom: On the afternoon of July 1, 2026, Major General Som Sun, Commander of the Military Operations Area, Deputy Chairman and Head of the Secretariat of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association Committee of Kampong Thom Province, represented by Mr. Nuon Pharath, Provincial Governor and Chairman of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association Committee of Kampong Thom Province, accompanied by Mr. Chuon Silavet, Provincial Branch Director of the National Social Assistance Foundation, Deputy Chairman of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association of Kampong Thom Province, and Mr. Ut Vanra, District Governor and Chairman of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association of Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province, led his colleagues to hand over a new house, the 73rd house in Kampong Svay District, a precious gift from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, President of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association, and Samdech Kittipritbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, to retired veterans who have land but inadequate housing. In O Romdeng village, Trapeang Russey commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province.

Major General Som Sun stated that the newly built house is 5 meters by 7 meters, built of concrete pillars, steel beams, galvanized iron roofs, and smart walls. The house has a wooden floor, with a 3-meter-long kitchen area to the rear, and there is also a toilet for use. And recently, in Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province, 73 houses have been built for veterans’ families and some more are in the process of being built, which are a precious gift from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association, and Samdech Maha Prasad Hun Manet, through His Excellency Senior Minister, General Kittisanghabandit Kun Kim, Vice President and Secretary General of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association.

On this occasion, Major General Som Sun and Mr. Ut Vanra also brought food, food supplies, household items, including mosquito nets, blankets, mattresses, pillows, plates, pots, and some money as well as other household items, which were gifts from His Majesty the King Hun Sen and His Majesty the Queen to Mr. Yuan Than to help him with his daily life and to use in his new home.
