Phnom Penh: Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam have committed to cooperate in exchanging information to prevent and suppress activities that undermine security, counter color revolution and disrupt unity between the three countries.
This is according to a press release on the results of the second ministerial meeting between the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, the Ministry of Public Security of Laos and the Ministry of Police of Vietnam on June 30, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia.
On the occasion of this meeting, to promote the implementation of the spirit of the second ministerial meeting more actively and vigorously, the meeting adopted a joint declaration outlining commitments on a number of important tasks, including:
1- Strengthening political trust and respect for each other’s sovereignty to maintain peace among the three countries and regional stability, as well as regional order based on law, sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and peaceful settlement of disputes.
2- Promoting security cooperation and responding to threats by jointly preventing all forms of cross-border crimes, such as terrorism, human trafficking, illegal drugs, illegal weapons, cybercrime, fake news, illegal immigration, and other non-traditional challenges such as epidemics and natural disasters, as well as jointly exchanging information to prevent and suppress activities that undermine security, counter color revolutions, and disrupt unity between the three countries.
3- Promoting border cooperation and development by jointly maintaining peace, aiming at community development, and promoting people-to-people relations in border provinces. in accordance with national laws, and strengthen communication mechanisms to support capacity building and coordination of frontline officers at the border to perform their duties effectively.
4- Strengthening friendship and exchanging experiences by conducting exchange visits and technical training to strengthen capacity and promote solidarity through organizing cultural, sports, training and research programs, especially among youth and law enforcement officers.
